We’ve been managing a hotel for endlessride over this last weekend and work has been a bit full on. Despite this I managed a little 3 hr blast around Morzine and Les Gets on Monday afternoon, I had a downhiller from Luxembourg in tow and decided I’d blat around the local area on the man made stuff to give him a taster of the area. He’d never been to Morzine before and in my experience a quick “acquaint” is a great way to get started on the tracks. I don’t usually do this type of riding, my preference is generally more XC based.

What a great ride, in the time I had I pretty much rode on new trails or new combinations of old trails, it wasn’t a paid guiding trip and Claude new he was just tagging along for the company. So I was pleasing myself and “testing” all the new routes. The work that Morzine and Les Gets have put in over the last few weeks has really paid off. I wondered if I was just on a high because the trails were in good nick or because I was pleasing myself. I ran my thoughts past Phil at FlowMTB and later Craig from Ride-On and they both agreed. Both towns have really upped their game recently and the results are great. It would be tempting to say that it is down to the recession and the downturn in business, it’s not that. It’s longer term, These sort of improvements have been in the pipe line since last summer.
